Crafty Gifts Reveal
Hello Readers!
One of the best things about being a crafty person is sharing your crafts with friends and family. Of course, there is nothing wrong with selfish crafting either! But the joy in someones eyes when they receive and handmade gift that is unique and filled with love is unlike any other!
This week I’m going to share gifts I’ve made from this Christmas and a few from before that too. I am also including some glorious gifts made by YOU! These were shared with me through #featuremeKC on Instagram. I love seeing everyone’s hard work in my feed, and now dear Readers, you can enjoy too!
Her fiance Jeremy is also a very good friend of mine, so for him I decided on a nice scarf for a more formal look (Thanks to Crystal). I dreamt up this Double Chevron Scarf for him, in a lovely, subtle variegated green & grey. 1 ball of Loops & Threads, Barcelona was more than enough (the colourway is Leafy for those interested).
My brother Colin has a special request this year: A crocheted Hexaflexagon! (If you would like to know what that is exactly you can find out here. She taught me all I know and explains it better than I could!) After a little research on the subject I couldn’t pass up this challenge! If anyone is interested in how this was made, leave a comment below and I will write a detailed post about it!
The next item was a gift to Logan on our 4th anniversary back in 2015. As I mentioned before, we are both huge nerds. Logan happens to be quite the gamer, he even went to school for video game design! We were already living together at this point in our relationship, and I just thought this phrase suited perfectly for our little abode.
Great job to everyone! I am so pleased to see the giving spirit among crafters online, whether it be a gift made for a loved one, a give-away contest to celebrate milestones, or even a feature event like mine!

CROCHET
This year I mainly focused on crocheted gifts. For my bestie Crystal, I designed the Celtic Top Knot Hat seen above. She loves the colour purple and she always has her hair in a massive bun on top of her noggin’! I’ve been seeing top-knot hats everywhere online recently and I couldn’t resist! (ps: You can see some of the progress of this project in my Celtic Weave Stitch tutorial)Her fiance Jeremy is also a very good friend of mine, so for him I decided on a nice scarf for a more formal look (Thanks to Crystal). Last but not least, of this years crocheted gifts, is the gift I made my loving boyfriend, Logan. He and I are both preeeeeeetty nerdy, so I try to incorporate that in my gifts for him. This year we have a Steven Universe reference in amigurumi form. This is Master of Ceremonies Bear Bear, a toy owned by the title character of the show, who slightly resembles the bear mascot of Kanye West (who Logan and I are also fans of). As you can see in the comparison picture, I have actually made this with inverted colours mistakenly. Guess I will just have to make another one!
PAINTING
While this years gifts were crocheted, in previous years I have explored other mediums. These are a selection of watercolour paintings I have done for my parents over the last few years, both for Christmas and birthdays.Painted Christmas Cards Snow Globe with a Christmas tree - Candy Cane and Holly - Wreath on my Parents' front door |

CROSS STITCH
Neither of these next 2 items were Christmas gifts, but they both carry a lot of love in them. The first is a cross-stitch version of my dad’s Celtic knot tattoo, I made this for his 50th birthday. The next item was a gift to Logan on our 4th anniversary back in 2015.
